Multiple Prime Contracts Not Mutually Dependent Multiple Prime Contracts

A New York court has ruled that when a project owner awarded multiple prime contracts, the rescission of one contract did not justify the refusal to honor an-other contract.

The City of Rye solicited bids for seven separate prime contracts in connection with renovation of its community center. The City announced award of the seven contracts to the respective low bidders. Xavier Contracting, LLC was awarded the general construction contract.
