Specification Prevailed Over Drawing Note Plans And Specifications; Subcontractors

A Massachusetts court has ruled that an architect properly determined that a specification calling for the audiovisual subcontractor to furnish loudspeaker backboxes prevailed over a drawing note indicating that the electrical subcontractor would install that equipment.

The City of Worcester awarded a contract to J. L. Marshall & Sons, Inc. for construction of a convention center. Marshall subcontracted the audiovisual system to Ostrow Electrical Co. and the electrical work to Coughlin Electric Co., Inc.
