Issues, Risks and Challenges in Early Completion Schedules and 12 Ways to Defend Against Them!

In the year 1960, courts approved and acknowledged a contractor’s right to complete work early. Shortly afterwards, there started delayed early completion claims, and went on to become somewhat common in the construction industry. Then, and still continuing, this topic has become quite a controversial issue in the industry and many project owners have reportedly refused to accept the schedules with early completion baselines, and others crafted various contractual mechanisms to defeat such claims when and if they occur.

In this webinar, expert speaker James G. Zack, Jr. will provide a background concerning the right of contractor to complete work early, and examine his/her right to seek an equitable adjustment in case there is a delay in completion due to owner’s action. This session will also briefly touch the subject of 12 different ways an owner can defend against early completion schedule claims.

After attending this webinar you will have a better understanding of the issues, risks and challenges concerning early completion schedules and the contractor’s right to complete work early.  You will also understand the risk of refusing to accept a reasonable and achievable early completion schedule. Finally, you will be exposed to the delay early completion claim and some defenses owners can employ to avoid such claims.
