Mechanic's Lien Could Not Cover Delay Damages Liens; Delay-damages

The Nevada Supreme Court has ruled that a mechanic's lien only secured payment up to the contract price. The lien could not include delay damages in excess of that price.

Amedeo Vegas I, Inc. awarded a contract to R. D. Olson to construct a commercial project. Olson subcontracted the framing and drywall work to California Commercial Enterprises (Commercial). During the course of the project, Olson issued a series of written change orders which greatly increased the subcontract price.
